Why should I use Tripwitt.com?

It is a tool that assists you in having the best possible trip planning experience. Travel Professionals know the world and the best way to get you where you want to go. You wouldn't let your mechanic give you a root canal, so why would you let someone who doesn't specialize in where you want to go make your travel plans? Don't take the chance with your 'trip-of-a-lifetime' or your annual vacation, let a professional get you there and then be there to support you if the unforeseen should happen.

What makes a Travel Professional a specialist?

There are certifications earned by Travel Professionals that qualify their expertise level in a particular destination or travel product. These certifications have to meet vendor or industry standards.

How are Travel Professionals paid?

This is probably the most asked question we receive. Travel Professionals are paid a commission by the vendor (hotels, car rental companies, tour operators, etc.).

Do all Travel Professionals charge fees?

No, not all of them do. This is one of the things that you want to discuss with a Travel Professional that you are considering. Find out if they charge fees, what they charge them for, and if they can be taken off of the cost of your booking.

Why do some Travel Professionals charge fees?

Primarily, fees are charged for the time it takes to plan a trip. Some professionals add surcharges to non-commissionable items like airline tickets. This is entirely up to the individual agent and how they do business.

How do I choose the right Travel Professional for me?

Start by browsing the profiles of the Pros who specialize in where you want to go and narrow the selection to those that spark your interest. Make sure you take all of their information into consideration. In other words, look at their credentials, associations, ratings, and even the different languages they speak. Next, interview them. Ask if they have been to the destinations or stayed in the resort you're considering. See if they belong to a travel consortium that might offer you additional benefits if you book with them. Finally, as a consumer, you may want to ask for personal references or testimonials that you can follow up on.
